Bitcoin vs altcoins

Having $100k in hand now, what would be better to invest in altcoins or bitcoins?) I think that the desire to invest in altcoins is always higher because we know how altcoins outpace bitcoins in profitability, but I think BTC has no such possibility to fall by 90%, and then by another 90%!)
